Q3020: Do non-HDTV displays work with Inteset systems? |
Yes, through S-Video and composite video interfaces. However, resolutions supported by these connections are insufficient for many functions available on the systems such as gaming and Web browsing. Displays supporting HDTV and gaming resolutions are recommended (please see the “Before You Buy” page).

Q3040: I only have a component interface on my HDTV display, are there any issues with this? |
Displays with a component input only will work with the Denzel system. However, installation and configuration for this type of input is tricky and may (depending on the make and model of the display) require special software and support services to configure. Please check with Inteset to determine if your component only display requires special software and support services to configure.

Q3060: Do Inteset systems support the HDMI video interface? |
Not directly. You will need to purchase an inexpensive DVI to HDMI adapter or cable to connect to an HDMI video interface on your display.

Q3080: Can I use more than one display with the Denzel or VANA systems? |
Yes. On the Denzel model, you can connect to two displays. Any 2 of the following video interfaces can be used simultaneously: composite, S-Video, component, VGA (15-pin), DVI-I. Q4000: Do I need a home theater receiver with the Denzel system? |
No. The Denzel has built-in hardware-based DACs for processing DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX sound. Note that the Denzel does not contain an
internal amplifier, so self powered speakers or an external amplifier is required.
If you want to use your receiver for decoding instead of the Denzel, you can
simply connect the Denzel to your receiver with the S/PDIF Output interface.

Yes. You will need either self-powered speakers or an amplifier as the Denzel has no built-in amplifier

No. However, it does support the popular 5 channel DVD-A disc format.

Inteset maintains its own DVD movie profile database on its servers. We do this so that you can quickly and accurately retrieve DVD profile information for your movie collection. This is a FREE service offered on Inteset systems only.

No. However popular DVD ripping software is available for free by download over
the Internet.

The Denzel system will support the HD-DVD movie disk format in future upgrades.

Up to 10 DVD movie streams can be played back over a 100mb wired network (standard household network).

Yes. Inteset has created a full two-way communication module and protocol for use with advanced control systems. This software works with
the Inteset TP420-SD and VP420-SD systems only.

Q11000: What is the difference between the Denzel and VANA models? |
Below are the features the Denzel model offers in addition to VANA features:
- Server configuration: Is configured to share the “Media Library” to work with other computers. Works in conjunction with VANA systems to serve up recorded TV and all other stored media on the server. VANA is configured to store content locally and to retrieve data from the Denzel server’s “Media Library.”
- Hard disk capacity: up to 2 Terabytes (VANA offers up to 400GB)
- Memory: up to 4GB (VANA up to 2GB)
- CPU: 3.2Ghz (VANA offers 2.8Ghz)
- DACs: DTS-ES, Dolby Digital EX hardware-based decoding, and THX
certification
- SPDIF Input with above DAC decoding capabilities (for passing DTS/DD from an STB)
- 7.1 Channel audio output (VANA offers up to 5.1 channels)

Q11020: Can the VANA system be used independently, or
can it only work with a Denzel system? |
Yes. In fact, the VANA can be upgraded to 400Gb of storage capacity making it an
excellent media server. The system is configured out of the box to operate
independently or in conjunction with a Denzel system.

Q12000: Can the system be automated to do backups? |
Yes. The Windows “Backup” utility can be used for this. Ideally, you can back up all files to an extended storage device such as the Inteset TeraRAID™ products.

Q12020: How much storage capacity is available on the Denzel? |
You can store up to 2 Terabytes of non-RAIDed data on the Denzel’s internal storage (upgraded hard disk required). Furthermore, external storage devices such as the Inteset TeraRAID systems can be used for an extra 2-4 Terabytes. SATA RAID SAN systems can also be used by connecting via the 2nd Gigabyte Ethernet port (TP420-SD model only).

Yes, via the USB interface.

Q13000: Is Inteset software available separately. |
No. Inteset software can only be obtained with Inteset hardware. Inteset designs its software to work with Inteset hardware.
