Inteset’s Denzel Media Server Gets a Makeover
Inteset recently unveiled its 4th generation Denzel media server at CEDIA 2007. The Denzel DTCD30-Si, features several improvements over its predecessor, such as a quieter, cooler, more elegant and accessible aluminum alloy chassis. The most noteworthy improvement is what Inteset calls a Hybrid Back Panel™. Unlike competitive products with fixed back panels, the new Denzel has the perfect combination of A/V style inputs and outputs for connectivity convenience. Like a computer, it also has several expansion card slots for easy upgradability. In addition, the easy-open chassis design allows internal components, such as DVD drives and hard drives, to be exchanged effortlessly.
“The new Denzel’s upgradeability is ideal for the up-sell,” says David Hirsh, Inteset Director of Business Development. “A dealer can contact his Denzel media server customers and sell them the latest A/V technologies without the customer needing to invest in a whole new system,” continues Hirsh. “It’s easy for the customer too. Instead of introducing a whole new system with the associated learning curve, the customer is just building on a system with which they are already comfortable. With our Denzel media server and highest end media server, Maximus, dealers can go back to the customer and offer upgrades like, Blu-ray, CableCARD, or additional storage.”
“We have seen a dramatic change in the trends of the A/V industry over the years,” explains Jeff Lloyd, President of Inteset. “With traditional A/V components there is no opportunity to upgrade parts. Basically, once you buy a component, you’re stuck with it for years despite technological advances,” continues Lloyd. “In response to customer requests, our dealers have seen a recent influx in upgrade business. This restructured sales model has created a lucrative profit center for our dealers, as well as satisfied their customers’ desire to maintain a technical standard with their media equipment,” adds Lloyd.
The 4th generation Denzel DTCD30-Si media server with all options is available immediately and equipped with the latest Blu-ray/HD-DVD playback capabilities, 4TB of RAID 5 protected storage, trouble alert email notification, dual or quad OCUR/CableCARD, and 3 independent audio zones (7.1 surround sound main zone with 111db per channel SNR).
